Spirit of the Wind

Thursday, November 12, 2015

12:00 – 1:00 pm

Please join us at Homer Watson House & Gallery for the November edition of our 2015 educational Lunchtime Lecture Series!  Scott McNichol, Homer Watson House & Gallery’s Associate Artist, is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a degree in Fine Arts and Philosophy. As a working artist of the past 22 years, McNichol has devoted his time and energy to teaching at Homer Watson House & Gallery, Scholar’s Hall Private School and Conestoga College, and has also curated numerous exhibitions at Homer Watson House & Gallery and Cambridge Galleries.  McNichol’s passion is found in sculpture, but he is also recognized for his acrylic paintings and extensive work in photography.

During his lecture, McNichol will discuss the importance of research, subject matter and patience when beginning an art project.  Combining paintings and sculptures in his exhibition, McNichol explores his passion for water, and the form and function of the age old vessel along with emphasizing the beauty and the strengths behind sail, wind and muscle. The event will also include a question and answer period with the talented artist.

In addition to our educational and interesting lecture, we will also serve light refreshments and provide tours of Homer Watson’s former home. Please remember to bring a lunch!

Admission for this event is $10.00 per person. Complimentary admission is offered to those who hold a valid membership.

Please call ahead to reserve your seat.
