Inviting all our friends and art lovers to an exciting evening celebrating Maud Lewis and the exciting find of Portrait of Eddie Barnes and Ed Murphy, Lobster Fisherman, Bayview, N.S. by Maud Lewis at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre.
A special advance screening of the movie Maudie, starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke, which celebrates Maud Lewis’ life and has received awards and accolades, including the Super Channel People’s Choice award at the Vancouver Film Festival. Following the screening, an after party featuring this painting and other Maud Lewis pieces from a local art enthusiast will take place at the Delta Hotel Waterloo. Refreshments will be served.
Bidding for this painting will open at the event and continue online until May 19. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to MCC’s work in relief, development and peace.
