Please join us as we celebrate the opening of the Open Gallery Program, Catharsis.

Each year Homer Watson House & Gallery selects one graduating class to create and curate an exhibition of their personal works. This year Homer Watson House & Gallery is proud to announce the upcoming Open Gallery Exhibition Catharsis by Eastwood Collegiate Institute. Catharsis steams from the Greek word “kathairein”, which means to cleanse or purge. In the case of Eastwood Collegiate Institute art students, it is an opportunity to release strong, pent- up emotions and tension through artistic fervor, creating the opportunity for  renewal and restoration. This expression can take many forms, such as striking mark-making, juxtaposition of imagery, and bursts of colour. The results can be mysterious and intriguing images of truth.

Join us for the free opening reception on Sunday, January 14 from 2-4 pm for the opportunity to meet the artists as they offer their opening remarks.

Exhibition runs from January 14th until January 28th.
