Art Therapy
Thursday, May 11th, 2017
12:00 – 1:00 pm
Please join us at Homer Watson House & Gallery for the May edition of our 2017 educational Interactive Speaker Series!
Kristine May will explore the connection between art, healing and our health and how making art, viewing art and art appreciation is really for everyone- even the “non – artist”. Kristine will discuss art as therapy and will explain some of the ways the “process” of creative expression can reduce stress and benefit our body, mind, and soul. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in a simple and fun art activity incorporating Mandalas.
Kristine May is an art therapist and educator, who works with individuals of all ages. She also regularly teaches classes, camps and workshops at HWHG. Dedicated to the link between the arts and well being, she uses an art therapy approach in much of her professional work. She has over 15 years of professional involvement designing and facilitating diverse expressive arts workshops, classes and educational programs.
In addition to our educational lecture, we will also serve light refreshments and provide tours of Homer Watson’s former home. Feel free to bring a lunch. Admission for this event is $10.00 per person. Complimentary admission is offered to those who hold a valid membership.
Please call the Gallery at 519-748-4377 or click here to reserve your seat.
